2018 Foliage Update
	Current stage: The season has ended. The first widespread frost came on the morning of Oct 19. Last year the first (scattered) frost was on Oct 17. OBSERVATIONS AND OUTLOOK: WEEKEND OF 11/10-11: Late season color in some spots. The hills are attreactive at sunrise and sunset. WEEKEND OF 11/3-4: A lot of leaves are gone from earlier storms and wind, but most areas are showing some of the brightest colors of this season. There's a high wind watch for Saturday afternoon, so enjoy now before it's too late. WEEKEND OF 10/27-28: Wind on 10/21 brought down a lot of (dull yellow) leaves, especially in valley areas. Another freeze 10/22 may help color pick up, but little vibrant color to be found and many trees are brown or bare. Some color seems to be emerging in southernmost areas. WEEKEND OF 10/20-21: A killing freeze ended the growing season on the morning of 10/19. Valley/riverbeds are dull yellow/brown and losing leaves. Otherwise only scattered color. WEEKEND OF 10/13-14: Valley areas are showing color. Wind expected. We'll see what happens. WEEKEND OF 10/06-07: Isolated color. WEEKEND OF 09/29-30: Isolated trees showing first color.
